Then why haven’t you registered to compete in this year's $2000 Challenge yet? The price to enter is only $180 right now, but it will increase to $215 after Friday, October 8.

What is the $2000 Challenge? It’s our annual low-buck motorsports event. It tasks teams with building a car that can conquer the autocross, dominate the drag strip, and steal the concours show–all for less than $2000.

The contest goes down at Gainseville Raceway in Gainseville, Florida, October 22-23.

$2000 Challenge Decal Guide Posted

The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by CRC Industries and TITAN Fuel Tanks wouldn’t be possible without our partners, and they’re also the reason we have some seriously cool prizes this year.

The winner of the $2000 Challenge will receive a big trophy, a fancy winner's jacket, $1000 in cash from eBay Motors, a welding table from Miller Electric, an XXL Replacement tank from Titan Fuel Tanks, a universal turbo from Maxpeedingrods and 4 free tires from Valino Tires!

To show our appreciation for these partners, all $2000 Challenge entries will be required to apply decals according to the Decal Placement Guide. It’s available at that link.

Registration Now Open

That’s right, folks, you heard it here first: Registration for the 2021 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by CRC Industries and TITAN Fuel Tanks is now open.

Set for October 22-23 at the familiar Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, the $2000 Challenge is where penny-pinching and extreme speed meet—often with spectacular results.

Registration fees for vehicle and driver are as follows:

• Register before September 22: $150

• Register September 23-October 8: $180

• Register October 9-17: $215

• Register after October 17: $250

2021 Schedule Announced

The schedule for the 2021 $2000 Challenge is now live here.

Autocross and drag racing sessions are planned for Friday, with the concours session planned for Saturday.

We are also planning on having Valve Cover Racing return for this year’s event.

Please note that it is a preliminary schedule, and that it is subject to change without notice.
